Out of the three completed rounds so far in the 2020/2021 season, the Boatettes have completed just one.
They were forced to withdraw early in the rounds at Minnie Water a fortnight ago when crew member Jesse Willis was ejected out of the boat during a race.
Sweep Steve Monaghan admitted not a lot had gone their way so far this season.
"Jess was bruised up a little bit so we had to retire the crew for that day," he said.
"We're not having too much luck, but it's only early days."
However, the club's newly-formed under-23 men's crew made an impression when they won round one and two at the same location.
"They've been the surprise packets," Monaghan said.
It hasn't been smooth sailing for them either.
They will have to do without Jack Chapman for a large portion of the season due to a broken coccyx bone.
"That's a painful injury and we hope he'll be back at some stage, but it's going to take a while to recover from it," Monaghan said.
The club's open men's crew will join their reserve men and reserve ladies crews this weekend to take their competing crews' tally to five.
"It will be our open men's crew's first hit out of the season and they are looking really steady," Monaghan said.
"We just hope everyone gets a bit more luck."
