Shayne Phipps' pride of joy, a mannequin named Charlie dressed in full Queensland kit for Origin game night, was stolen from the front yard of his Ocean Drive property at the weekend.

The abduction has been reported to the police and investigations are underway.

Shayne has posted a $100 reward online for the safe return of his mascot.

Inspector Mick Aldridge of Mid North Coast Police Command said the incident has been reported. There has not been a demand for ransom either.

The Queensland supporter's home, a shrine to his mighty side, is regaled in maroon memorabilia with Charlie the centrepiece.

Charlie was wearing a Queensland NRL jersey, black boxer shorts and wig before his disappearance.

It has been alleged a person driving a white tray ute was seen on the property some time between 10pm and midnight Saturday, November 14 removing Charlie and fleeing the scene.

Inspector Aldridge said the mannequin is said to be identifiable due to its missing right eyelashes and a tear-like mark on its cheekbone.

"What makes this act even more sick-minded is that whoever stole it threw a NSW jersey on to the lawn," Inspector Aldridge said.

In posting the reward online, Shayne said he slashed the NSW jersey with a boning knife and left it on show as a warning to the thief.

"I hope they can read between the lines," he said.
