Every adult in NSW will be eligible to receive $100 worth of digital vouchers for use at eateries and on arts and tourism attractions across the state as part of a $500 million program to help business, stimulate the economy and support jobs.

Port Macquarie cafe LV's on Clarence manager Moya Burke said the voucher scheme was "pretty awesome".

She said it would be a boost to businesses as well as be good for people's mental health as they took the opportunity to eat out.

The Out & About voucher program was part of the NSW Budget handed down on Tuesday [November 17].

The vouchers can be used at participating eligible NSW businesses and venues registered as COVID-safe.

Two vouchers go towards eating in at venues such as restaurants, cafes, clubs and other food service venues.

The other two vouchers can be used for entertainment and recreation such as cultural institutions, performing arts, cinemas and amusement parks.

Birol Portakaldali of Zahara Turkish Restaurant, Ottoman Kebabs and Town Green Buffet said the voucher scheme would be good for business.

"It will be a benefit for everyone," he said.

"Anything they [the government] can do to help small business, I would be more than happy."

NSW Treasurer Dominic Perrottet said the $500 million Out & About program was designed to boost businesses hit hard by the pandemic, by encouraging people to get out and enjoy the best of NSW.

Service NSW will operate a pilot of the scheme throughout December in the Sydney CBD.

The scheme will be rolled out across the state from late January 2021.

Applying for vouchers will be made available via the Service NSW app.

Business NSW regional manager Kellon Beard said the Out & About program would help revitalise the hospitality sector, maintain and grow employment and bring greater vibrancy to key venue precincts.

Meanwhile, AHA NSW CEO John Whelan said this was a tremendous initiative which would help all hotels, as the sector and hotel employment continued to be impacted by the pandemic.
