Mrs Staples was among those to make the most of the resources on offer at the reboot, refresh, relaunch your career pop-up session at the Glasshouse on Thursday. (October 29)

The event followed successful career pop-up sessions in August to support people impacted by COVID-19.

Advice and information on hand covered areas from career and job searches to education, training and start-up and entrepreneur support.

"I feel, with COVID, we have time to reflect and I would like to build the sale of art side of my business and also get it out there about how important it is to be creative," Mrs Staples said.

"Encouraging people to be creative is a big goal of mine."

Mrs Staples hopes to boost art sales through her business, Art of Life, as well build on her digital skills, and she is writing and illustrating a children's book with her daughter.

She also took part in a styling session with The Style Vibe's Vanessa Lawrence and had a professional profile photo taken by Natalie O'Donnell from Natalie O'Donnell Photography.

Council's acting group manager economic and cultural development Amanda Hatton stressed the importance of the community's long-term recovery from COVID-19 impacts.

"This [career session] is a great way to not only connect people with business advisers but also provide them with professional styling tips and professional head shots," she said.

"It's really encouraging to see people come together and connect throughout the community."
