And, says Leonie Stevens, COVID-19 restrictions are playing their part.
The Association launched a series of events each Sunday through October, replacing its traditional fundraising Spring events.
Ms Stevens says the response from the public has been amazing.
"The association is fundraising for our community centre and also the Comboyne Museum," she said.
"We would normally have a Spring event - including our popular garden walks - but these have been cancelled.
"To fill that fundraising void we are hosting a plant, book and cake stall each Sunday. This includes featuring some incredible craft and a teapot garden display at the shop.
"The first events were an amazing success and were really successful in a fundraising sense.
"The returns certainly exceeded our expectations of sales."
Mrs Stevens said visitors travelled from Forster, Taree, Port Macquarie and Wauchope to attend the first two sale days.
The Comboyne community provided the plants and cakes for the events, continuing to show how much support the museum has from local residents.
Work at the museum is continuing to forge ahead with the community preparing to build a new toilet facility.
Mrs Stevens said that work will start once the group gets the go ahead from Port Macquarie-Hastings Council.
"The exterior of the building is now complete," she said. "We are also looking to complete works on the car park facilities too.
"The construction is gaining enormous support from former residents of the plateau along with current community members.
"We have a few plans underway to keep engaged with these museum supporters," she said.
"A number of the original families associated with the very early days of Comboyne have made significant donations of furniture and machinery which is appreciated.
"Our plan is to also restore the church tower and move it to the museum grounds."
Mrs Stevens said the museum could be opened in the New Year.
She said the museum was uniquely placed at the entrance to the village.
"I'd encourage everyone who is looking for a day trip to head to Comboyne each Sunday in October and enjoy this area."
The stalls get underway at 10am until 3pm.
