MID North Coast Police District is still awaiting definitive forensic results on human remains found on two Port Macquarie beaches in September.
A crime scene was established at both Little Bay at Lighthouse Beach and Miners Beach on September 28 after beach walkers discovered human remains on the shoreline.

Police closed both beaches and the Coastal Walk to the public while a more thorough search of the area could be conducted. They were assisted by members of ALS lifeguards.
The remains were sent away for forensic examination but a police spokesperson said at the time, they have been identified as human.
Police will not link the discovery with a recent case of missing Port Macquarie man Mark James, whose car was found at Lighthouse Beach last month.
An extensive inter-agency search over six days of the coastline between Watonga Rocks at Lighthouse Beach and Shelly Beach to the north could not find any trace of Mr James.
Supt Shane Cribb said forensic results could take several weeks to produce a result.
