A MAN was airlifted to Tamworth Base Hospital in the early hours of Monday morning (October 12) after spending more than 10 hours trapped under a fallen tree branch.

The Westpac Rescue helicopter was called to a property west of Port Macquarie at 1am.
The tree-felling incident triggered a multi-agency response to an injured man on a property at Cooplacurripa.
It is understood that a 62-year-old man had a tree branch fall on him around 2pm Sunday afternoon. The man remained pinned under the large branch until midnight last night when he was found and emergency services contacted.
The helicopter was first to arrive on scene followed by ASNSW Paramedics and rescue services.
He was released from under the branch and treated for lower leg fractures and pelvic injuries by the Helicopter Critical Care Medical Team and ASNSW Paramedics.
He was airlifted to hospital in a stable condition for further assessment and treatment before being flown to John Hunter Hospital.
