The triumphant "youngsters" won their semi-final 24-10 and this was the pattern of their winning rate throughout the tournament.
The women's final of the championship was a much closer match, and took four hours of concentrated play, before Kit Hoswell and Muriel Law of Illawarra Leagues emerged victorious.
Honorary organiser of the tournament Gordon Burgess of Harbord, West Port Macquarie Club president Mr Jack McGinnity, and the mayor Ald C.C. Adams presented the medals and trophies.
High tribute was paid to the host club, to the success of the tournament, and to the capabilities of the players.
Lauding the win of the youthful pair, the most used comment was that St. George needed a couple of players badly, and both should be playing football.
Lloyd and John also received canteens of cutlery while the ladies champions were given lovely tablecloths.
The presentations concluded with president Jack McGinnity praising the organiser Gordon Burgess.

Weather-wise, the elements turned on a pretty stiff nor'easter, but conditions remained pleasant throughout the morning.
Another indication of the change of season was several groups of visitors. Up from Sydney, they were interested in knowing "what sort of a place is Port Macquarie to live in?"
