Mayor Peta Pinson and Member for Port Macquarie Leslie Williams visited the Telegraph Point sewerage treatment plant on September 29.

All three communities will benefit from the construction of new sewerage treatment plants and full collection systems which include a pressure sewer system in Telegraph Point, and gravity sewer systems in Comboyne and Long Flat.

Mayor Peta Pinson said these three systems add to the systems provided in Beechwood, Herons Creek and the North Shore since the mid 1990s.

"The new fully reticulated sewerage networks provide a more efficient disposal method, and importantly, protects the environment and health of the local community," Cr Pinson said.

"This is a $29 million investment in Telegraph Point, Comboyne and Long Flat, and yet another example of council working closely with the NSW government in delivering for our rural villages."

The Telegraph Point sewerage network already has 45 properties connected to the system.

The Comboyne system will be completed in the coming weeks, followed by the Long Flat system in November.

Member for Port Macquarie, Leslie Williams said the expansion of sewer services to Telegraph Point will see the village enjoy the same level of service as people living in larger communities like Port Macquarie.

Member for Oxley Melinda Pavey said it is important regional communities had access to efficient wastewater services.

The three village sewerage scheme project was awarded $6 million from the NSW government's Restart NSW program, specifically the Water Security for Regions Program.

Port Macquarie-Hastings Council contributed a further $23 million.
