Online symposium speakers Melissa Neighbour from FutureCrunch and Joshua Karras from United Nations Association of Australia NSW Division will present an informative session looking at new technologies, new ideas and new examples of how people live together.
FUTUREThink - The Big Picture will be live streamed from the Glasshouse through Port Macquarie-Hastings Council's Facebook page and YouTube channel from 7pm on Tuesday, September 29.
It is all part of developing the Community Strategic Plan - THINK 2050.
Mr Karras will talk about the United Nations' sustainable development goals and how individuals can use them to achieve a global agenda.
He encourages people to pick a goal which matters to them.
"It's about noticing an issue in your community that bugs you, that concerns you, relating it to a goal, aligning yourself with it and using the advice of the goal to help tackle it," Mr Karras said.
The goals were created by all countries for all countries.

"If we stick to the goals, we will see a profound change across all areas of society, from inequalities to environment to infrastructure, poverty and hunger," Mr Karras said.
"All of these areas will be improved and it will simply lead to a safer, fairer and more sustainable community for all."
Miss Neighbour's presentation will showcase the latest and greatest urban design solutions and programs creating amazing places, sustainable communities and strong economies.
She urged people to take part in FUTUREThink, hear ideas happening around the globe, think about what they love about the community and ways to enhance those aspects.
"I strongly believe that the local community are the experts," Miss Neighbour said.
"I think focusing on the things you love already that could be better or made bigger or different, and making more of them, is the way to go."
Mr Karras and Miss Neighbour praised the council on its approach.
The second FUTUREThink event is the community panel discussion, Our Big Ideas, with local movers and shakers on Thursday, October 1 from 7pm, live streamed from the Glasshouse.
FUTUREThink is part of the research, input and development of the region's Community Strategic Plan which is scheduled for completion in 2021.
The council's group manager community, Lucilla Marshall, said FUTUREThink would inspire people to think differently.
"I think we often get stuck in the here and now, and this is a plan for 2050, so we need to break that thinking," she said.
