A man and a woman in her 30s were dragged out to sea at the popular holiday location and washed on to rocks at nearby Gap Beach on Sunday (September 27).
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called to assist in their retrieval.
The man was rescued by surf life savers.
The helicopter team winched in their critical care paramedic.
The woman was safely rescued from the rocks and treated at the scene.
A Westpac Rescue Helicopter spokesperson said the aircrew were challenged with a strong gusting southerly wind that hampered them during the 150 foot winch.
The woman was suffering abrasions from the incident and treated by paramedics at the scene.
