Port Combined coach Natalie Jordan was elated with the one-point winning result, dashing onto the court to hug her players after the final buzzer.
"I'm absolutely ecstatic, it was amazing. They really wanted to do it for each other and we had a tough talk at halftime when we were down by seven," she said.
"Their effort was amazing and more amazing because they were in it for each other."
Saints captain Jennifer Glover said she was disappointed with the loss but happy with how the season had played out for the team.
