THE Port Macquarie ORRCA rescue team are investigating reports of an entangled dolphin and her calf in the Hastings River.

The dolphin was spotted off Town Green near the wharf at 7am on September 9 and again swimming back upstream at 1pm.
Sightings of the dolphin have confirmed it is entangled in blue line or rope.
Residents are urged to keep an eye out for the dolphin and its location and contact the ORRCA hotline on 02 9415 3333.
Vide of the dolphin and an approximate GPS location will assist the ORRCA team provide assistance.
Dolphins are protected in Australian waters and people are warned they must stay at least 300m away from the animals.
Meanwhile, rescue crews are on standby if a whale seen entangled in ropes and floats off the NSW South Coast is spotted again.
It was last seen on Monday off Tuross Head, south of Batemans Bay.
