The projects are at Queens Lake in the Camden Haven and Port Macquarie's McInherney Park and Westport Park boat ramp.

Port Macquarie MP Leslie Williams said the funding was from round three of the Boating Now program which supported infrastructure projects to improve access, amenities and safety for NSW boaters.

"I think it just complements the work we have done up and down the coast," she said.

"This is supporting local communities to make sure they have better facilities that are accessible and convenient."

The state government will provide $737,275 to upgrade the Westport Park boat ramp car park including lengthening the parking bays, widening access roads and upgrading the wash-down bay.

Port Macquarie-Hastings Council will contribute about $250,000 to the work.

Mayor Peta Pinson welcomed the state government funding for Westport Park boat ramp upgrade.

"This is our foreshore maturing and coming into its own," she said.

"Not only do our residents want a lifestyle experience, our tourists really enjoy rediscovering our region with all the upgrades."

Sailability Port Macquarie is thrilled with the $250,000 state government contribution towards the storage shed and amenities block at McInherney Park.

The state government funding is on top of Sailability's $100,000 contribution and $120,000 from the council.

McInherney Park's old toilet block will be replaced with disability-friendly toilets and changing facilities, as well as much-need storage space.

Sailability Port Macquarie president Bob Walsh outlined the project's benefits including a boost to the number of people able to enjoy freedom on the water with Sailability Port Macquarie.

"We will be able to increase our sailing vessels from nine to 12 because we will have somewhere to store them now," he said.

There will be storage space for Sailability Port Macquarie, Port Macquarie Triathlon Club and Port Macquarie Yacht Club.

Sailability Port Macquarie, which is volunteer-based and offers sailing to people of all abilities, is always looking for more volunteers.

The state government will also provide $20,000 to support plans from Queens Lake Sailing Club to build additional boat storage to free up limited parking on the beach at the club's Lakewood base.
