A 30-year-old man was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle in a stable condition after an accident on Maria River Road.

The accident occurred at about 2.30pm where it is believed the man ran off the road and hit a tree.
NSW Ambulance crews were called to the scene where they found the man trapped.
A NSW Ambulance spokesperson said the man was suffering from serious injuries.
Police, Fire and Rescue crews and SES volunteers attended and extricated the man and treated him on scene for multiple traumatic injuries.
He was stabilised before being flown to Newcastle by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter for further treatment.
