On a day where conditions were greasy following a steady shower throughout the game, a youthful Tacking Point Thunder Omni side were not quite good enough.
Camden Haven coach Leigh McIntosh was satisfied to start the shortened 2020 competition on the right note.
"It's a different-look team to what we had last year, but the new girls have adapted to our style quickly and they looked really comfortable from the second quarter onwards," he said.
"That cohesion will only get better as the season progresses."
McIntosh, however, had no doubt the Omni would improve with more than half the side 16 years of age or younger.
"It's a fairly young team that they've got overall, but they're extremely talented," he said.
"They have plenty of up-and-coming young stars including NSW under-18 representative Maddi Drewitt so a team that has her in it is always going to be dangerous.
"But for our first hit-out of the season, I was pretty pleased about it."
