A MAN was trapped in his car after it ploughed into the front of a home at Lighthouse Beach in Port Macquarie this morning (July 27).

The accident happened at about 8.45am when the car left Lighthouse Road, crashing into the home, a spokesperson from NSW Police confirmed.
Emergency services attended the scene and found the man trapped in his car. A crew from the State Emergency Service (SES) with the assistance of Fire and Rescue extricated the man from the vehicle before NSW Ambulance officers treated him on scene.
NSW SES crews, with assistance from Fire and Rescue also helped to ensure the property's structural integrity.
The man was taken to Port Macquarie Base Hospital for assessment.
A resident in the home was inside at the time of the incident but was uninjured.
