The inclusive play space at Lighthouse Beach features a wheelchair accessible picnic table, in-ground spinner, seesaw and bubbler as well as other playground equipment.
Children can play on the new monkey bars, log climbing net and balancing log, slide and timber cubby house.
The gardens, swing set, rope climb and basketball hoop have been given a spruce-up.
Hannah Jeffery, who brought her two-year-old daughter Vienna to the playground, said the upgraded facility was wonderful.
"It's great to have somewhere to take the little kids," she said.
"There are lots of things here that are little, little child-friendly that they can manage themselves."
The playground was filled with families during its opening on Tuesday, July 7.
Father-of-four Mark Rowlatt said the revamped playground was unreal.
"It is a great place for the kids in the neighbourhood to come and meet," he said.
"For us, having a park in the neighbourhood gives our kids the opportunity to get outside away from screens."
The $135,700 upgrades were funded by Port Macquarie-Hastings Council to the tune of $85,700, with the state government contributing $50,000 through an Everyone Can Play Grant.
Youngsters wasted no time in putting the upgraded playground through its paces.
Mayor Peta Pinson said it was great to see the kids using the playground.
"The kids are going to put this to the test," she said.
Cr Pinson said the Blair Reserve playground was an all abilities playground which was really important.
"It is a family-friendly space and it has brought Blair Reserve into 2020," she said.
Port Macquarie MP Leslie Williams said the Everyone Can Play Grant Program was all about ensuring play spaces were inclusive.
"It's important that everybody gets an opportunity to be able to use this wonderful space," she said.
"It is great to see so many kids out using this space."
