Mr and Mrs Lynch are significant financial contributors to the garden and were honoured with the ceremonial opening of the pathways on July 3.
"It's amazing and everyone has done such amazing work," Mrs Lynch said.
"We first donated $5000 for general gardening in 2015 because we're been in a fortunate position to be able to help. Port Macquarie has been very good to us and this garden is something for the community."
Mr Lynch said the couple were willing to continue supporting the project.
"It's fabulous and they have done a great job. I was originally very interested because they are all volunteers and they work very hard," he said.
"It's not an easy site to work. Rain, hail or shine they are always here working in the garden."
Also present at the opening of the pathways surrounding the waterfall were Friends of Mrs York's Garden volunteers, friends and family.
"I'd like to thank everyone for coming and my family would be so happy with what's happened here," said Bertha York's granddaughter Glenys Pearson.
"I've thoroughly enjoyed working here. I enjoy gardening and creating this beautiful space for everyone to enjoy."
The original waterfall and windmill were the final wishes of Mrs Bertha York, who began the floral reserve in 1961 and saw their completion in 1970. She would pass away in March 1971, leaving the care of the garden to council.
It fell into disuse and was later revived in 2015 by community group, Friends of Mrs York's Garden.
Group spokesperson Dianne Davison said there will be a larger grand opening in three or four weeks after the final stages of planting and rock work are complete.
"The most important thing is bringing it back to being Mrs York's Garden and have it the way she would have wanted it," she said.
"Bertha knew she wasn't well and this waterfall was her masterpiece. She was worried about the garden and who was going to look after it.
"But as soon as the water started running here again it was very emotional and we knew it's what Bertha would have wanted."
The $50,000 project has been supported by Friends of Mrs York's Garden community fundraising. Works are being completed by BNJ Landscaping with assistance from garden volunteers.
