To be fair with its news reporting on the fluoridation poll, Port News should also have included the views of others in the LGA who think it is totally unnecessary and a gross waste of the community's money. Irrespective of the poll outcome, the policy regarding fluoridation will remain unchanged, so what does it achieve overall?

Fluoridation of potable water is about the greater good and the health of the public, in particular our children.
The "old" argument about the right to choose is just that, old and irrelevant.
Next thing is we will be having a poll on whether we should have vaccines, and apart from that being a retrograde step and unthinkable in the current climate, it too would be a complete waste of money.
