A Port Macquarie man who stalked, intimidated and then attacked two elderly people in their home has been sentenced to spend at last four years in jail.

Ian Last appeared before Judge L Flannery in the Sydney District Court on June 19.
Last pleaded guilty to a range of charges including, two counts of stalk/intimidate intend fear of physical harm; destroy or damage property; wound a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm; damage property by fire; reckless wounding; and contravene an AVO.
Judge Flannery sentenced Last to an aggregate term of four years in jail.
The sentence will commence on February 7, 2019 and will expire on February 6, 2023.
Judge Flannery set a non-parole period of 29 months and Last is first eligible for parole on July 6, 2021.
The list of charges related to incidents that occurred on February 6 and 7, 2019.
Several charges were withdrawn including, destroying property, using an offensive weapon, wounding a person, damaging property and three counts of common assault.
Last was arrested after he threatened a man and a woman, aged 80 and 82 years.
He was granted conditional bail, and issued an interim domestic violence order.
Court documents reveal that Last returned to the home where he again threatened the couple with a knife before stabbing them.
In his sentencing, Judge Flannery noted Last's guilty pleas.
