Pipes are being laid along John Oxley Drive in the next stage of the Thrumster Recycled Water Mains scheme which is earmarked for completion in April 2021.
New homes at Thrumster are part of the Port Macquarie-Hastings recycled water scheme and have been built with a dual plumbing system allowing for use of recycled water once it becomes available.
Council's recycled water treatment plant is operational. Current works will build the pipeline required to transfer the recycled water from the plant to the Thrumster area.
Recycled water produced at the plant is highly treated water is free from bacteria, viruses and other pathogens. It can be used for laundry, watering gardens and lawns, car and boat washing, washing and feeding pets and toilet flushing.
Pipeworks are also ready for the commencement of the Sancrox to Wauchope water mains project to be completed later this year.
