Now she needs your support as she faces one of the toughest battles of her life.

Robyn is a fighter. There's no doubt about that.

Nine years ago she survived a breast cancer diagnosis, beating the disease and reclaiming her life and her love for the work she does.

But in a cruel blow, Robyn was hearing the heartbreaking words that came with yet another cancer diagnosis in January this year. She had developed treatment induced acute myeloid leukaemia.

Within days of diagnosis, Robyn started intensive treatment at Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney where she has been since February.

She has only managed one short break to return home to Port Macquarie to be with family and her two children.

"Robyn misses them dearly as she is having many setbacks with the chemotherapy and reactions to some of the medications," her friend Richard Banzer said.

"Her battle is not over. She is needing more chemotherapy and a ultimately a bone marrow transplant to improve her chances of survival.

"Her stay in hospital will be very long. Finances are stretched with what she is going through."

Richard said Robyn has had to draw on all of her leave during the treatment period.

He has set up a GoFundMe page to help support her family.

In December, 45-year-old Robyn suspected her health may have been compromised.

She went on a holiday to the Gold Coast but was chronically fatigued and discovered bruising on her body.

Tests returned a positive diagnosis for leukaemia.

She is supported by family and friends, especially her two children, mum from Kempsey and sisters who regularly visit her in hospital.

Richard says Robyn's spirit is helping them all navigate their way through the emotional challenges of her illness.

"Robyn brightens up everything and everyone loves her," Richard said.

"She sees the positive in everything and that's what's getting her through this.

"She might feel downhearted but you see this exterior that's really strong, vibrant and happy.

"She does want to get back and contributing. She had a special project in post surgical infections before she left work.

"She is just an adventurous, giving and kind person."
