Works will commence on Monday, April 27 between the Braeroy Drive roundabout to The Ruins Way and The Ruins Way from John Oxley Drive to Annabella Drive.
Work will take about four days to complete and detours will be in place.
The upgrade to a stretch of The Ruins Way is expected to start by mid-year.
The project involves the reconstruction of The Ruins Way from Major Innes Road to Sitella Street.
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council's 2019/20 Operational Plan includes $950,000 for the road reconstruction project at Innes Lake.
This project will include new kerb and guttering, pavement reconstruction, drainage improvements, lighting upgrades and a new shared pathway between Major Innes Rd and The Ruins Way playground, adjacent to Sitella St.
The desired outcomes of the project include:
- Reconstruction of the pavement to cater for future residential subdivision growth.
- New asphalt road surface to reduce noise and improve ride quality.
- Improved drainage provisions to control road surface run-off.
- Provision of a shared pathway that improves connectivity and safely accommodates a variety of users off-road.
- Improved lighting to enhance road legibility and create a safer environment for motorists, pedestrians and cyclist.
Works are expected to be completed by late 2020, subject to favourable weather conditions.
Funding for the project has been provided through the Innes Peninsula Section 94 contributions plan and Roads to Recovery funding provided by the Australian Government.
