Port Macquarie Food Hub is the result.
Andrew Hearne from Near River Produce fast tracked the idea after a realisation a large amount of the market was about to be lost due to dwindling demand from restaurants and cafes.
The farmers and artisan producers came on board and Therese Hearne created the online shop in a weekend.
Customers can order products from duck to pork, honey, avocados, vegetables, sheep fetta, buffalo mozzarella, eggs, sourdough, rice, pasta and coffee beans.
The Other Chef will act as the physical hub for the initiative.
Orders are collated and packed for delivery each Thursday afternoon or evening in Port Macquarie or they can be collected from The Other Chef between 3pm and 5pm on Thursdays.
Mr Hearne said customers would receive local produce and products.
He said the produce travelled less than 100 kilometres rather than perhaps thousands of kilometres.
"The main benefit is every cent they spend stays in this community," Mr Hearne said.
"The farmers can keep people employed, the money is spent here and affiliated businesses get cash flow."
Eric and Monica Robinson from The Other Chef are among those to support the initiative.
"We are thrilled to be involved," Mrs Robinson said.
"We will certainly be alongside some of the best producers of fresh food and other products in the region."
She said the initiative had given their business a real boost and hope they could keep the business going during these tough times.
"It is keeping the cogs turning and is keeping us busy in the short term," Mrs Robinson said.
She said there was some great food produced in the area and they were strong together.
