Rebecca Stockwell is behind the donation drive to provide snacks to busy frontline workers at Port Macquarie Base Hospital.

The community answered the call for donations.

Hospital staff members received the first lot of donations on Saturday, March 28 which included biscuits, energy bars, lollies, fruit, energy drinks, cakes and slices.

Miss Stockwell described the community support as amazing.

"They have blown me away with their support and care for our frontliners," Miss Stockwell said.

Donations can be left at Seasalt Cafe before 1pm daily with another handover planned on Saturday, April 4.

Tumblegum Bakehouse, Peak Coffee, Kenny Little's Quality Fruit and Vegetables, Seasalt Cafe and BlazeAid have been among those to donate, in addition to individuals.

"It really has, from this little idea, gone crazy with generosity," Miss Stockwell said.

"It doesn't take much to be kind."

Port Macquarie Base Hospital general manager Catharine Death thanked Frontline Needs Our Help supporters for thinking of the hospital's emergency and COVID-19 assessment clinic staff.

"There's no doubt we are facing difficult times, but it is also important that we don't lose our community spirit in the face of adversity," Ms Death said.

"The kindness shown by Rebecca and her Facebook followers is very much appreciated, and it makes a difference.

"At a time when community members are being asked to stay at home and to keep their distance, this small act of kindness brings us all together.

"Our doctors, nurses and clinic staff are grateful, as I am."
