Parramatta Eels tragics Karmen Marchment and son Joel will be more than happy if the National Rugby League doesn't return in 2020 due to COVID-19.
After all, the season has already started.
The blue-and-gold's currently sit on top of the NRL ladder by eight differential points over Newcastle, but Mrs Marchment was happy to claim the premiership after 160 minutes of action.
"The one little one we won a couple of years ago was the Nines and they took it off us," she said.
"I'm happy for the season to finish right now; I can't see a problem with it but they'll probably find we're over the salary cap."
That would be ironic when you consider the Melbourne Storm's 2009 premiership win - over the Eels - now has an asterisk next to it after the Storm were found to be over the salary cap themselves.
The Marchment's were due to attend the Easter Monday clash with Wests Tigers in the comfort of a private box with 11-year-old Tigers-supporting daughter Sophie.
That now can't happen with the NRL competition on hold indefinitely.
"We watch footy religiously so we're a bit devo we can't go to the game," Mrs Marchment said.
"It's a big part of our family life - to watch the footy - so it'll be a big gap in our social life."
The Wauchope family attended the first game last year at Bankwest Stadium and were lucky enough to go on the field after the game.
"We kept some of the turf as a souvenir and have it growing in our garden," Mrs Marchment said.
