In the shop's twelfth year of community support, more than $234,090 in funding was awarded to sporting and activity clubs, groups and charity causes.

Official presentations made at the Kendall Services Club were unfortunately called off on March 19 due to concern regarding the threat of coronavirus in the community.

Op Shop volunteers coordinator Elaine Browning said this year marks the 24th year of operation for the shop.

"The 2020 grants night had to be cancelled because of current health concerns and so all grant amounts were sent by post," she said.

"The funding this year confirms the shop's amazing contribution to the Kendall community and surrounds. All volunteers have contributed invaluable effort in reaching this milestone.

"In addition this year, as acknowledgement of the devastating and widespread bushfires in the local area, the Op Shop directed a one off grant of $25,000 to the Wauchope Blaze Aid efforts.

"It also directed $5,000 to each of 15 local Rural Fire Brigades. This is a total of $100,000 contributed by Kendall Op Shop to local bushfire recovery efforts into the future.

"This alone is something for all volunteers to be very proud of. Without so many dedicated, hard working and persistent volunteers who turn up every week to often face seemingly insurmountable work to be done both in the sorting rooms, at the donations door and at the front counter, these funds would simply not be available to the community.

"These funds are precious in such a tragic year as 2019 to 2020. Congratulations to everyone, a wonderful year of volunteering."

The Op Shop Grants system began in 2009 and aims to assist not for profit community groups or organisations that enhance the well being of the community of Kendall and surrounding district.

The shop has been closed due to health concerns for volunteers and customers since Saturday, March 20.

Other sponsorships include funding to the Kendall National Violin Competition, which was given $5000 in funding for three school concerts and support for a series of workshops using an Artist in Residence program.

Riding for the Disabled, Kendall Centre was given $2500 for sponsorship of a horse for one year to provide feed and veterinary assistance.

Rhythm Review was given $5000 for performance equipment

Around $10,000 was sponsored for Camden Haven High School excursions to undertake well being school excursions.

The same amount was given to Camden Haven High School NAIDOC Week to cover NAIDOC Week expenses.

Charity grants totalling $8,800 were given to Little Wings ($3000), BlazeAid ($2,500), Hastings Home Hospice ($1,500), YPSPACE MNC ($900), Burma Education Funds ($900).

One off grants included $25,000 for Blazeaid and $5000 each for 15 rural fire brigades. Fire brigades include Byabarra, Comboyne, Hollisdale, Huntington, Long Flat, Pappinbarra, Pembroke, Rollands Plains, Telegraph Point, King Creek, Camden Haven, Hannam Vale, Johns River, Lorne and Moorland.
