Of writing something down about this 'flu!
If it was just the normal virus, it would surely not inspire us
To raid the shops for toiletry tissue!
I hear the politicians have imposed severe conditions
On our travel and the things we do each day.
And they've set up Royal Commissions, and consulted great physicians,
But coronavirus still won't go away!
Now they've closed down all the airports, and prohibited all imports,
And placed a ban on people shaking hands!
And they've shut down public transports, and cancelled footy fans' sports,
So football's now all played to empty stands.
The crisis may get deeper, and though petrol's getting cheaper,
There's not much else around to celebrate.
So beware the old grim reaper as the death-toll rises steeper,
And - if you think you need - self-isolate!
It's a worrying situation for the entire population,
And with older folk particu'ly alarmed.
But with enhanced sanitation and two-weeks' self-isolation,
And a Bex and a good lie down, we won't get harmed!
