These people, mainly elderly, are anxious, frightened and concerned about their health and well-being and Morrison's description of their behaviour is simply insulting and displays poor leadership.
I do not recall Morrison describing the behaviour of the Banks as revealed through the Hayne Royal Commission, and widespread wages theft as often revealed by Adele Ferguson, as un-Australian behaviour.
So do we conclude that theft and fraud is OK but caring for your health and well-being is bad?
There are ways to encourage people not to hoard and Morrison did not choose well. Instilling confidence in Parliament and Institutions would be a decent start and combine this with inspirational leadership and effective management.
