Council closed the Glasshouse and visitor information centre, indoor stadium and regional gallery at midday on Monday, March 23.

On Tuesday, it plans a widespread closures of facilities including all of its customer service centres and libraries in Port Macquarie, Laurieton and Wauchope; and swimming pools in Kendall, Port Macquarie, Laurieton and Wauchope.

Council offices are still accessible and open for business via phone, email and online, and staff are exploring ways to minimise hardship for members of our community, including ratepayers and business owners.

All libraries will still offer online services including ebooks and Kanopy streaming services are still available.

The Innes Gardens Memorial Park Crematorium and Lawn Cemetery, will continue to operate in accordance with Australian Health Department guidelines, particularly in relation to social distancing.

The waste transfer facilities in Comboyne, Kew, Port Macquarie and Wauchope remain open.

The Port Macquarie Airport remains open however council advises people to check with their airline regarding flight changes and/or cancellations (the Café is closed).

"Cleaning levels at our public amenities and facilities have been increased, and we're endeavouring to provide toilet paper and soap where possible, despite the setbacks we've faced with recent increases in theft and vandalism in these facilities," a council spokesperson said.

"Many community and major events have been cancelled or postponed over the last week, and we suggest you contact each independent organiser for more information relating to their specific event.

"Council is also considering potential changes that may be required to future access to facilities such as council-managed community halls and public amenities.

"It is acknowledged that there is uncertainty around what's ahead in coming months, however we remain committed to ensuring that the vital services we all rely on every day continue.

"This includes ensuring we have clean water in our homes, our sewage is managed as per normal, and our red, yellow and green bins are picked up."
