In November, 2019 the Sunset Gallery received a huge amount of clothing, toys, furniture and linen as part of the appeal to help people impacted by the bushfires.
Despite hosting a garage sale in January, the gallery still had a lot of items left over from the appeal.
During the bushfire crisis many Port Macquarie op shops were inundated with donations. Cherie offered the donations to the Salvation Army in Tamworth, who she said were so excited in accepting the offer.
Coastal Hire Port Macquarie offered to volunteer staff time and a truck to transport the donated clothes to Tamworth.
Cherie thanked Coastal Hire Port Macquarie, who she said have been incredibly generous.
"Especially since a lot of businesses are doing it tough at the moment," she said.
Cherie said Red Cross volunteers helped to sort through the clothes before the garage sale, so everything has been appropriately sorted.
The sale which the Sunset Gallery hosted in January raised about $600 to be split between the Port Macquarie Red Cross and the communities of Pappinbarra and Willawarrin.
Cherie thanked all the volunteers who helped sort the donated items in the lead up to the January sale, her family and the efforts of Coastal Hire Port Macquarie.
The gallery is hoping to raise more money for the organisations, through the sale of other donated items including camping equipment, toys, linen, baby items and some home wear.
They hope more volunteers can offer their assistance with sorting the items.
