Golf in Port Macquarie remains one of the few sports currently left unaffected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
While it is traditionally a quieter time of year for the sport, Pro Shop assistant professional Josh Main said their numbers had slightly increased over the last week.
"If anything, Thursday was probably busier than last week," he said.
The impact of coronavirus on the golf community had been minimal although some players remained wary once their ball was on the green.
"There were a few weird talks out on the golf course that no one wants to touch the flag because you don't know who else has touched it and a couple of guys didn't want to shake hands," Main said.
"But we're trying to keep hygiene at it's best; we're still serving around 250 people a day so we've got to wash our hands as much as possible and hope everyone else does too."
The club was expected to hold a members formal ball in July, but that has been cancelled, while it is unknown if any upcoming golf events will also fall victim to coronavirus.
"We're meant to have the Seaside Classic week of golf from July 27 until August 2 so if anything gets worse, it will probably be off," Main said.
