The event will be held on March 15, opposite The Beach House in Port Macquarie from 9.30am until 1.30pm.
Nicola said originally she had planned to hold the event on March 8 to coincide with International Women's Day but decided to keep them separate.
"Violence against women is such a huge problem in our society and I want to take a stand in a confronting but non-confrontational way," Nicola said.
"I think most if not all women have been in a situation or know someone who has been in a violent situation and things just have to change."
She said as a survivor herself of violence the protest has significant meaning.
"I am wanting to create a conversation where people can get educated about just how big a problem violence against women is," she said.
"I have created signs that make people want to stop and think about the issue and hopefully that can begin to spark positive change.
"Violence comes in so many forms not just physical but also mental and financial so it can be hard to see the signs.
"It will take the whole community coming together to make a difference and I hope we can."
Nicola said she hopes people bring along signs and wears purple but everyone is welcome to come and have a chat and to take part in the protest.
