Although I do think that drinking our own urine is a little bit "over the top".
We escaped Sydney and moved up to the area in 1982.
Ever since then we have been informed by council that they can't pump from the river as it is too turbid following a rain event.
Surely there has been enough time for council to install equipment to remove suspended solids from the water?
Whilst council blithely approves never ending new subdivisions that not only form "slums of the future", they also see the population grow exponentially yet the water supply capacity remains unchanged.
Then there are the never ending sporting events, festivals and the like which advantage a very small percentage of ratepayers, inconvenience many more, and place further demands on an inadequate water supply.
Finally there is the timing of the progression from level three to level four water restrictions. Yep you are correct it's delayed until the holiday makers leave.
Councillors please don't approve anymore subdivisions until the water supply is upgraded to cope with the current demands, inclusive of artificial peaks and projected growth.
Yes I do believe in Father Christmas, the Easter Bunny, political integrity, death and taxes.
