The well-known Peter Huxley and his wife Heather, are moving to a new role in Kyogle. They will be greatly missed by the church family as well as by the wider community.
The new pastor for the congregations at Wauchope, Rollands Plains and Comboyne is Samuel Gittins. Samuel has come to Wauchope from Bathurst with his family, Rebecca, Lillian and Timothy.
"Wauchope Presbyterian Church has a growing number of people in its congregations and is looking forward to the energy and enthusiasm a younger pastor and his family will bring. Samuel's desire, like Peter's, is to preach and teach the gospel of the Lord Jesus," said the church elders.
"Over 100 people of all ages from across the valley make up the church. They are keen to see the continuation of the great fellowship, the active ministries and the Christian teaching that have been hallmarks of the church for many years."
A farewell dinner for the Huxleys will be held at the Senior Citizen's Hall on Saturday February 8. The last services at which Peter will preach will be at Wauchope and Rollands Plains on Sunday February 9. Samuel will start his ministry here the following day.
"We thank God for Peter and Heather and pray that they will have a wonderful ministry in the Kyogle Church, as we look forward, with faith in God, to the ministry of Samuel among us," added the elders of Wauchope Presbyterian Church.
