The monthly markets had been held at the showground for the last two years.
The Show Society cited dwindling attendance at the markets in recent times as the main reason behind the decision. It is understood the markets were no longer financially viable in their current format in 2020.
But the decision has "disappointed" at least one community group that participated in the market.
Kendall Men's Shed spokesperson Bruce Simpson said the group was very disappointed when they found out the markets were being cancelled.
"We are obviously very disappointed because the markets were a great way we could interact with the community," Mr Simpson said.
"The Men's Shed is based at the showgrounds so having people regularly come by we would have conversations with them about what we do and the services we could provide.
"Lots of other Men's Sheds host stalls at markets and the cancellation of our markets is an unfortunate situation.
'We would like to see something like the markets come back but we will have to wait and see what the Show Society come up with."
Camden Haven Show Society secretary Jody Nelson-Gleeson said it was a difficult decision but one that was a long time coming.
"At the end of the day we had worked really hard for the last two years to breathe new life into the markets and it wasn't working," Mrs Nelson-Gleeson said.
"We had added and changed different things about the markets but nothing seemed to bring in larger crowds each month.
"In the end the Show Society members at the AGM in November voted that it was not viable to continue with the markets in their current format."
At the AGM the members voted the markets would finish up in December 2019.
Mrs Nelson-Gleeson said it was an "unfortunate situation" but there were a range of factors that ultimately made the members vote the way they did including competing larger markets across the Mid North Coast.
"It was a lot of work to run the markets each month and although we had a small band of dedicated volunteers it was too much for the few volunteers we had," she said.
"We don't think it was a surprise to many when our members did vote to cancel but we can understand if some people are upset.
"We are already in discussions about what we can do moving forward and having Christmas markets or some night markets might be a way to change things up in the future.
"The Show Society and the members need to find a way to reinvigorate what happens out at the showgrounds and in the next few weeks and months people can look forward to some exciting announcements."
Despite the closing of the markets at the Camden Haven Showground there are still weekly markets in Kendall on a Thursday morning.
