NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) district officer Stuart Robb said there are still four fires burning in the region.
All four fires (Lindfield Park Road, Tunnel Road at Herons Creek, Humbug Trail at Crowdy Bay National Park and Kauthi Creek at Woko National Park) are at patrol status.
Last week there were nine fires burning in the region.
Mr Robb said while the situation has eased, the fire season is not over.
"Thankfully we have moved back to some more normal weather patterns," he said.
"We see warm days punctuated by some storm activity which is good news for us from a fire fighting point of view but the public still needs to remain vigilant."
The bushfire danger period officially ends on March 31.
"Review your bushfire survival plan and have that conversation with your family members," Mr Robb said.
There has been an outpouring of community support for the RFS.
"Fundraising has been overwhelming from the community," Mr Robb said.
A Port Macquarie accommodation provider - Port Pacific Resort - is the latest business to get involved donating $5000 to the RFS and challenging other businesses in the area to do the same.
Mr Robb said if people would still like to contribute they can do that through their local brigade, the Wauchope district office or drop by a Port Macquarie-Hastings Council office.
Mr Robb said there would be a local review of RFS procedures at the end of the season.
"As a matter of course, after every major declaration of Section 44 there is a review," he said.
"That review will take place at a brigade level and that information is fed up to district levels and then everything from those reviews is then fed through to our head office."
Fire permits remain suspended but will be reviewed in the coming days.
