A huge crowd came together at the location to enjoy the live entertainment, browse the market stalls and eat Aussie snags straight from the barbecue.
When asked what Australia Day means to her, Di Watkins said in light of all the recent devastating bushfires, it's important people come together.
She said the event means even more this year and she's proud to be Australian.
Josh and Keeley Kaye were at the Town Green on Australia Day, along with their baby Lottie and dog Lammi.
The family travelled to Port Macquarie from Newcastle. They originally moved to Australia five years ago from England.
Keeley said she loved witnessing the community come together on Australia Day.
She said everyone is very friendly and people are always smiling.
The couple plan to become citizens of Australia in the future.
The jumping castles at Town Green proved to be a hit for children, while the dog agility show drew a large audience.
The official Port Macquarie-Hastings Awards and Citizenship Ceremony will get underway at 3pm at the Town Green.
