Sunset Framing and Gallery is set to host a mammoth garage sale to help raise money for three organisations.
In November, 2019 the Sunset Gallery received a huge amount of clothing, toys, furniture and linen as part of the appeal to help people impacted by the bushfires.
On Friday, January 24 and Saturday, January 25 the Sunset Gallery will be transformed into a op shop haven, for a garage sale from 8.30am-4pm on both days.
The proceeds of the garage sale will be split between the Port Macquarie Red Cross and the communities of Pappinbarra and Willawarrin.
Cherie Morton from Sunset Framing and Gallery said she was so grateful to all the volunteers, who have worked so incredibly hard since the peak of the fires in November.
She said volunteers have continued to work throughout their summer holidays to help sort the mammoth pile of donated items into sections.
Jason Purkis has been a volunteer at the gallery since the peak of the fires in November. Jason and his son Clayton worked initially to deliver food supplies to the communities most in need.
Ms Morton said attendees are invited to fill a bag of clothes for a $5 donation. There will also be a variety of other items for purchase.
Ms Morton said in the event of future disasters, there should be a system where communities can state what items are needed and where. She said this will ensure donations reach the right people in a timely manner.
The Sunset Gallery is located at 25 Central Road, Port Macquarie.
