Port City Leagues Magpies blitzed Macquarie Hotel Cricket Club at Oxley Oval during game one on January 15, despite the lights going out at the ground in the second innings.
A Port Macquarie-Hastings Council spokesman said engineers have assessed the fault at Oxley Oval on January 20 and 21.
"Our engineers have discovered an overheating issue with the lights and are working to provide a ventilation solution," he said.
The second match between Barbarians and Wauchope RSL will start at noon on Saturday, January 25 at the oval.
Whichever team wins that game will go on to face the Magpies in the grand final at 4pm on Australia Day.
