Members were called to four leaking roofs, drain flooding and fallen trees. One tree fell across one lane of Pacific Drive, while another fell down in a resident's backyard and narrowly missed a house.
NSW SES Port Macquarie-Hastings unit commander Michael Ward is urging people to clean up their backyard to help reduce any potential incidents.
He said strong winds can pick up large items, such as outdoor furniture and trampolines.
Residents should also fix any damage to their roof, and keep their gutters, downpipes and drains clean.
Storms can occur at any time but Bureau of Meteorology data shows there is a marked tendency for severe thunderstorms to occur between the months of October to March in NSW.
Mr Ward said the Port Macquarie region is predicted to have above average rainfall for the next couple of months and people should be alert to warnings for potential severe storms.
The NSW SES Port Macquarie is the combat agency for floods, storms and tsunamis.
Members are also responsible for general land rescues, motor vehicle rescues, vertical rescues and flood rescues within the Port Macquarie area.
People can call the NSW SES on 132 500 for assistance.
