This morning I carefully placed my phone and wallet on the boot of my car, reminding myself to pick them up before driving up to Port Macquarie.

Of course, I forgot them and drove off.
Heading towards the Mitchell Houston roundabout, I was annoyed that some "hoon" was flashing me and telling me to pull over.
However, when I stopped, the lady - definitely not a hoon - explained that she had seen something like a wallet fall from my car, and credit cards flying across the road! She also carefully retrieved my phone, still on top of the boot, and made sure I didn't lose that too.
Thanking her, and doing a U-turn, I retraced my drive, to find three young guys who had stopped to collect the cards and wallet they'd seen scattered across the road, clearly pleased that they had an owner they could return these things to.
Cards and wallet were duly returned to a very grateful owner.
My wife and I would like to thank all four of these lovely people - each one a credit to the community.
