Sarah Morabito has always loved to perform.
Growing up in Maitland when she left school she studied at the Ballaret Arts Academy.
It was there a boy caught her eye, future husband Mark.
After years of performing the couple set up stumps in Port Macquarie and noticed a gap in the performance space.
So they set up their own business Theatre Oz.
"We offer courses in drama, audition preparation, private tuition, improvisation techniques, music theory, acting ... anything that involves helping people realise their dreams or goals," Mrs Morabito said.
"Theatre Oz complements the existing dance studios but hones skills in singing, acting and stagecraft.
"And our classes are designed to cater for all ages; talent and a desire to improve has no age barrier."
She said regional students are often disadvantaged when it comes to performance training.
"A lot of the time with smaller regional places the only option is to go to Sydney, Newcastle to get trained or experienced mentors to take them through developing skills," she said.
"We wanted to build a little bit of professional experience with a focus on training."
What is it like to work with your husband?
"Surprisingly great," she said.
"We were definitely tentative when we started but that is, four years this year, we have worked together professionally as performers so we understand an etiquette."
Theatre Oz is currently running daily classes for kids during the school holidays.
The fun sessions include drama, acting and music theatre training. Junior age group - 7-11 years and Senior age group 12- 16 years.
