"I studied and taught textiles," she said.
"I was a fashion teacher at TAFE."
Ms Hill was one of the participants at Wauchope artist Vana Ford's Summer Masterclass at the Glasshouse on Saturday, January 11.
Participants made their own eco-dyed silk scarves and dabbled with natural colours to dye and paint handmade paper.
Ms Hill said it was exciting to learn new techniques.
"I am always interested to learn," she said.
"The eco-dying really interested me, dying from using nature, leaves, flowers and berries."
"I would love to apply what I have learnt."
Participants also strolled through Vana Ford's exhibition (with Kerry Wheeldon) called Threaded Earth at the Glasshouse.
Mrs Ford is a textile and bead artist who has been influenced by traditional artists from India, Japan and Indonesia.
Threaded Earth is on at the Glasshouse until Sunday, January 12.
