A service station development on the corner of Ocean Drive and Ackroyd Street has got the green light.
The Mobil-branded service station is stage one of the project.
Stage one includes the installation of underground fuel tanks, four double-sided fuel dispensers and overhead canopy, 16 car parking spaces, signs and landscaping.
The service station is permitted to open from 5am to midnight seven days a week.
RCI Group development manager Stephen Moore said the plan was to start construction in March or April with the build to take 16 to 18 weeks.
Mr Moore said they looked forward to providing the locals with competitively priced fuel.
Fast food outlets will come in the next stage with two tenancies approved and a parking area for an additional 17 cars.
The food and drink premises have permission to open between 7am and 10pm Sunday to Thursday, and 7am to 11pm Friday and Saturday.
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council's Development Assessment Panel approved the development application, with conditions, on December 11.
The council report said the site was considered suitable for the proposed development and the proposal adequately addressed relevant planning controls.
"The development is not considered to be contrary to the public's interest and will not result a significant adverse social, environmental or economic impact," the report said.
