A man has been charged with attempted murder after an incident at Hannam Vale.

About 5pm on Thursday, December 12, a 53-year-old woman arrived at a home in Hannam Vale, where she was allegedly grabbed by a 52-year-old man known to her.
It's alleged the man attempted to strangle the woman before she broke free and ran to a nearby home and contacted police.
She was later taken to Port Macquarie Base Hospital where she was treated for head and neck injuries.
Officers attached to Manning-Great Lakes Police District arrived a short time later and located the man with injuries to his neck.
He was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.
On Saturday, December 14, he was discharged from hospital then arrested and taken to Waratah Police Station.
He was charged with attempt to strangle with intent to murder.
He was refused bail to appear before Newcastle Local Court on Sunday, December 15, where he was again refused bail to appear at the same court today, December 16.
