Blake Wells is the grandson of the legendary Harry Wells, who played for Australia in the 1950's.
"I had the pleasure as a young boy of watching him play for the West Magpies at Pratten Park," said Dave Ward from the Comboyne club.
Blake, who hails from Telegraph Point, has had a distinguished junior career with the Port City Breakers and the Port Sharks.
He was the captain of the under-18s for the 2016 and 2017 seasons, and he was also called up to play first grade in 2017.
At the end of the 2018 season playing first grade for the Port City Breakers he received a phone call from the Western Suburbs Magpies in Sydney to try out for their Ron Massey Cup under-23 side.
He made the side playing a more unfamiliar role at five-eighth but as Wests will not be fielding a team in the 2020 Ron Massey Cup, Blake returned home.
"It has been a long time between drinks since we have had a player of the calibre of this young man pull on a Comboyne jersey and you had the chance to meet him at the 'Meet the Coach' day on Saturday December 14," Ward said.
This was held yesterday at the Rocks River Ferry Reserve in Wauchope.
