Eat See and Do Local
Just in time for the busy Christmas holidays, the popular Eat See Do official visitors' guide for 2019-2021 is out.
It's jam-packed with a bunch of great things to experience right across our region, and it's not just for those visiting, it's a great handbook for locals too. There are 116 pages of exciting places to eat, things to see and do.
They range from popular attractions such as Billabong Zoo and Sea Acres Rainforest Centre; fun activities like Stoney Aqua Park, Jollynose Mountain Bike Park, and the award-winning Koala Sculpture Trail, to things that are off the beaten track like Ellenborough Falls, Port Macquarie Kart Race and some real hidden gems.
There's things that even I didn't know about, but will now put on the must-do list.
As we recover from the recent bushfires, it's particularly important that we support our local businesses and shop local. They are the lifeblood of our community and really need the support of the people who live and work here.
Small business is never easy at the best of times, it takes a lot of hard work, passion, dedication, and perhaps most importantly, patronage from locals.
Whether it's taking a day trip in our hinterland, thinking twice about buying online, shopping Unique Boutique in Wauchope, going somewhere new for a bite to eat or being a tourist for a day, there's just so many ways to support our local businesses.
So here's my challenge to you - if you're having a 'staycation' during the coming holidays why not highlight a few things to do from your guide, get out there and Eat See Do local. Local businesses will love you for it and I can guarantee you'll experience something new and fun.
The Eat See Do guide will be delivered to homes across our region this week. If for some reason you don't receive your copy, you can pick one up at any of our council offices, the iKew Information Centre, or the Visitor Information Centre at the Glasshouse.
You can also view the online version at portmacquarieinfo.com.au. So come on everyone, let's all Eat, See, Do, local these holidays.
