Hastings fire crews and hospital volunteers were welcomed with applause from thousands of people during the grand parade in Port Macquarie on November 28.

A wooden Santa House constructed by Hastings Valley Community of Schools was crowned as the best float on the night. A 'Doing It For Our Farmers' float complete with hay bales and country kids was named runner-up.
Port Macquarie Property Group raced ahead in the annual mascot race to take line honours.
Choirs, jazz ensembles and the Blu Hyp Big Band entertained crowds before Port Macquarie-Hastings Council mayor Peta Pinson and Santa officially switched on the CBD's Christmas tree lights.
The annual fireworks were cancelled for the event due to safety concerns and local sponsor Infrabuild donated their funding to local RFS crews.
At its December meeting, council will make a decision on whether to proceed with the New Year's Eve fireworks.
